EXTREME TRIO AT WARSAW DEALERSHIP

23 November 2022

Three extreme special editions of Ferrari are on display at the Warsaw showroom - these are the 812 Competizione, the F12tdf and the 599 GTO. Among other things, these Italian masterpieces combine the extreme character of a track car with a naturally aspirated V12 stacked longitudinally in the long hood in front of the driver.

The Ferrari 812 Competizione is the straight-line heir to the F12 Tour de France (in 2015) and the 599 GTO (in 2010). It is an even more extreme derivative of the flagship 812 Superfast. Following the example of the 599 GTO or F12 TdF, it combines the form of the brand's traditional coupe with a twelve-cylinder engine up front with the extreme character of a true track car. Engineers at Maranello have been working on the model, limited to 999 units in the closed version and 599 in the open Competizione A variant, for the past two and a half years. They were led by Michael Leiters.

The Ferrari F12tdf is a reference to the "Tour de France." However, it's not the famous bicycle race that we're talking about, but the car race that Ferrari won for the first time in 1956. And then it won repeatedly, until the 250 GT Tour de France model was created to commemorate these victories. Today's car refers by name to that one from years ago, and is a special version (limited to 799 copies) of the F12 model, the successor to the 599 GTO from 2010. The V12 unit, with a displacement of exactly 6262 cc, which has now been boosted by 40 hp and 15 Nm of torque, generates 780 hp at 8500 rpm and torque reaching 705 Nm achieved at 6750 rpm.

The 599 GTO is a development of the concepts presented in the 599XX studio racer. Actually, it is its adapted version for public roads. This car can be called the quintessence of dynamics and sports performance. Emotions are stirred by every detail of it, from the racy exterior design, through the interior with a somewhat austere, but not absorbing the attention of the driver, to the chassis and drivetrain, using technological solutions used in Formula 1 cars. For the first time in a production model, its characteristics and the operation of electronic support systems are programmed to provide maximum grip and simultaneous feel of the car, while eliminating any signs of oversteer. The engine is a modified (homologation requirements) 599XX unit. It has a capacity of 6 liters, 12 cylinders in a V configuration (set at 65 degrees), a powerful 670 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque.
